Description description | Container made from a coconut cut in half and decorated with relief carving. The raised rim with notches indicates where to place lid. The lower half of the container has a scene of two men on horseback and a standing figure with a cat(?), a cane, chair, pipe, and whip. Initialed along rim with "H R A". The upper half (cover) scene shows a man (smith) working at a traditional forge and man working at steam powered forge with elaborate gears. This is followed by a table with a kettle, three other vessels, and a chair. The male figures are all depicted wearing western clothing. |
